Tutorial: Sewing a lining into a dress

This is a part from my Boho dress pattern tutorial and I am going to show you how to sew a lining into a dress with center front button closure (with sleeves):

Place two upper front parts on top of the back upper part, right sides facing.

Pin in place and sew along the green lines. Repeat these steps with the lining material.

Place lining material on top of the main material,
right sides facing.

Pin in place and sew along the green lines.
Don`t sew 1`` where indicated.

Cut the material as shown in photo to get nicer edges after inverting.
Be careful not to cut the stitches!

Turn the material right side out.

It should look like this. Iron it to keep in place.

Place the upper part with lining facing you, as shown in photo.

Join two main materials, right sides facing. This is where you`ll make the shoulder stitch.
Pin in place and sew them together. Do this on both sides.

Now place the upper part wrong side up, as shown in photo (you should be able to see
stitches on the side).

Lining material should be right sides facing. Pin in place and sew along the green line.

Turn the upper part right side up, main material
facing you. Tuck in the material as shown in photo.

 Pin in place

Sew along the green line.

Hope you find this useful!
